ALRC spotlight on age discrimination in the workforce
Attorney-General Nicola Roxon has announced an Australian Law Reform Commission (ALRC) review of review of Commonwealth legislation and policies that create barriers for older people participating in the workforce or other productive work. Terms of reference are imminent, but have not yet been released.
The current Age Discrimination Commissioner, the Hon Susan Ryan AO, has been appointed to assist the ALRC with this task.
See the Attorney-General’s media release for further information.
In July 2011 the HRLC convened a conference to encourage and inform debate on the Commonwealth Government's consolidation of its anti-discrimination laws. Check out this page for a wrap-up of the conference, speakers presentations and materials and video footage and photos from the day.
